Gas Chromatography monitors Green House Gas (GHG) emission from flares

چکیده

A considerable contribution to the worlds total GHG emission originates from gas flaring: According to a World Bank estimation an amount of around 150 billion cubic meters of natural gas is flared around the world annually, contaminating the environment with 400 million tons of CO2. This is equivalent to around 25 % of the United States’ gas consumption, or 30 % of gas consumption in the European Union.

Impact of H2S Content and Excess Air on Pollutant Emission in Sour Gas Flares

In sour gas flares,  content like any other components in inlet gas influences adiabatic flame temperature, which, in turn, impacts on the pollutant emission. Wherever flame temperature increases, the endothermic reaction between  and  is accelerated, which means higher  emission to the atmosphere. In this work, we developed an in-house MATLAB code to provide an environment for combustion calcu...

A New Mathematical Model To Optimize A Green Gas Network: A Case Study

Global warming created by large scale emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) are a worldwide concern. Due to this, the issue of green gas network has required more attention in the last decades. Here, we address the GHG-based problem that arises in a gas network where gas flow is transferred from the Town Board Station (TBS) to consumers by pipeline systems. Given this environment, an optimization...

Comparison of green-house gas emission reductions and landfill gas utilization between a landfill system and an incineration system.

Electricity generation and greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions were researched by making comparisons between municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill and incineration systems with three different electricity generation efficiencies - 10%, 21%, and 24.7%. For MSW landfill systems, it is shown that the total electricity generation is 198,747 MWh, and the total GHG emission reduction is 1,386,081 tonne CO...

A Study of Greenhouse Gas Assessment and Supplier Selection

Green House Gas (GHG) emissions from corporate activities are gradually becoming a mainstream management issue for businesses. The GHG Protocol Scope 3 Corporate Standard has been adopted as the international standard to report a corporation’s overall emission profile of their value chain activities. Through Scope 3 Corporate Standard, companies can recognize potential emissions and associated ...
